  • Do I need a visa for Sharm El Sheikh?

    Most nationalities can get a free Sinai-only entry stamp on arrival, valid for stays inside Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba for up to 15 days. Travelling beyond Sinai, or staying longer, usually needs a paid visa on arrival or e-visa — check your nationality's requirement before you fly.

  • What's the water like for diving and snorkelling?

    The Red Sea around Sharm El Sheikh is diveable year-round. Visibility is typically excellent, and water temperature ranges from the low twenties °C in winter to the high twenties in summer — most people are comfortable in a shorty or light wetsuit even in the cooler months.

  • Do I need reef-safe sunscreen?

    Yes — bring reef-safe (mineral) sunscreen if you can. Ras Mohammed and the surrounding reefs are protected national park waters, and oxybenzone-based sunscreens are increasingly discouraged across the Red Sea for exactly that reason.
