1. Cancelling a booking yourself
Unless the activity listing states otherwise, the standard window applies:
- More than 24 hours before the start or pickup time — cancel in the app for a full refund.
- Within 24 hours of the start or pickup time — the booking is non-refundable, because the operator has already committed the boat, vehicle, guide or seat.
- No-shows — not refundable.
Some activities have a longer window because of how they are provisioned — private boat charters, overnight desert trips and anything requiring a permit are common examples. Where that applies, the window is shown clearly on the listing and at checkout before you pay, and it overrides the standard window above.
To cancel: open the booking in the app and tap Cancel booking.
2. If the operator or daynight cancels
You get a full refund, automatically — no form, no chasing us. This applies whenever an activity is cancelled by the operator or by us for any reason, including weather, sea conditions, port or coastguard closures, mechanical failure, insufficient numbers, or a safety decision.
Where possible we will offer you an alternative date or a comparable activity first. You are never obliged to accept it — you can always take the refund instead.
3. Weather and sea conditions
Sharm is a marine and desert destination and trips do get called off. The operator's decision, or the port authority's, is final and is always made on safety grounds. A weather cancellation is refunded in full under section 2. If a trip goes ahead but conditions are simply less good than you hoped, that is not a cancellation and is not refundable.
4. Partial delivery
If an activity starts but is cut materially short, or a significant advertised element does not happen, contact us within 48 hours with your booking reference. We will review it with the operator and refund a fair proportion, up to the full amount.
5. Changing a booking
Date and time changes are free of charge when requested more than 24 hours before the start time and the operator has availability. Inside 24 hours, a change is treated as a cancellation. Adding guests is subject to availability and charged at the current price.
6. Hotel pickup
If you added hotel pickup and the driver does not arrive, do not pay for your own transport and hope for the best — call us on +20 127 877 0000 straight away. If we cannot get you there, the booking is refunded in full. If you are not at the pickup point at the agreed time and the driver cannot reach you, it is treated as a no-show.
7. How refunds are paid
- Refunds always go back to the original card, in the original currency. We cannot refund to a different card, to cash, or to anyone else.
- We submit the refund to our payment provider within 2 business days of approving it.
- Your bank then takes its own time to post it — typically 5 to 14 business days, sometimes longer for cards issued outside Egypt. That part is outside our control.
- We do not deduct a handling fee from refunds. If your bank applied a foreign-exchange fee on the original payment, that fee is theirs and is not something we can return.
8. Requesting a refund
Most refunds are automatic. If you need to raise one, email hello@daynighteg.com or call +20 127 877 0000 with your booking reference, the date of the activity and what went wrong. We acknowledge within 1 business day and decide within 5 business days.
9. If you disagree with our decision
Reply to us and ask for it to be escalated — a second person will review it. We would much rather resolve it directly than have you raise a chargeback with your bank, which is slower for everyone. If we got it wrong, we will say so and fix it.
