Canyon Salama & Dahab day trip: what the day looks like
A long day out. It leaves at 07:00 and it's back around 17:00, about 10 hours in all. It runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
You're picked up from your hotel, so drop a pin for it when you book the canyon day. You travel by jeep, with a canyon guide.
At Canyon Salama you walk through the canyon on foot with the guide, for about ninety minutes. The day also takes in a camel ride, a snorkel stop in the Red Sea and lunch in Dahab.
Pick one of two tickets. By 4×4 ($33) covers the jeep, the canyon walk, the camel ride and the snorkel stop. + Quad ride ($39) adds a quad ride to the canyon day, if a walk and a camel aren't enough.
How is it different from the horse rides? They take an hour each, on the beach at Nabq or inland across the wadi. This is the whole day, with a lot of road in it. If you want the desert but not the drive, the quad and buggy safari takes about 2 hours.
